Why we built Ballast Supply — and who it's really for.
It started with one black night.
A storm took the power for three days. Warm fridge, dying phones, a boil-water notice on the tap — and two kids asking when the lights come back on, with no straight answer to give them.
We'd always meant to get around to being ready. That night we learned that meaning to isn't the same as being ready.
The gear we found was broken.
We went looking for the basics — clean water, warmth, light, a way to hear what's actually happening.
What we found were two piles of junk: overpriced tactical kit built to look hard on a shelf, and disposable foil-and-plastic rubbish that fails the first time it matters. Nothing built for an ordinary family that just wants to be ready — without turning into a "prepper".
So we built the gear we wanted to own.
Every product carries an S-code because it earned one — lab-tested filtration, NASA-derived thermal material, three-way powered comms that don't need the grid.
